Owner FAQ

Questions we get
from car owners.

How much do I actually keep?

You keep 60% of gross trip revenue. Holo's 40% covers detailing between every trip, charging/fueling, photography, listing management, guest support, delivery staff, damage claim handling, and Turo fees. No hidden deductions.

What kind of car can I list?

To perform well on Turo and keep guests happy, your car should be no more than 3 model years old and under 100,000 miles, in clean mechanical and cosmetic condition. It needs to be insured — and if it's leased, you'll need gap insurance in place. Not sure if yours qualifies? Send it over and we'll tell you straight.

What about insurance and damage?

Turo's host protection plan covers physical damage up to the actual cash value of your car, plus $750K in liability coverage. If your car is leased, we make sure gap insurance is in place before the first trip. Holo handles every claim start-to-finish — you shouldn't have to call an adjuster.

Who pays for maintenance and cleaning?

Cleaning between every trip is on us. Standard maintenance (oil, tires, brakes) stays with the owner, but we coordinate the appointments at our partner shops and deduct from your payout only if you want us to.

Can I use my car whenever I want?

Yes. You block off your own trips on the calendar. Most owners keep 2–3 weekends a month for themselves and let the rest of the month run.

What if my car gets returned dirty or damaged?

Every return is inspected by our team before the next guest. Damage is documented, claimed through Turo, and repaired at our partner shops. You're looped in on every step.

How long is the commitment?

Month to month. Pull your car with 30 days' notice — no fees, no lock-in. We'd rather keep you by doing the job well than by trapping you in a contract.

My car is financed — can I still list it?

Yes. Most lenders don't prohibit peer-to-peer rental, but check your loan agreement. Many owners use the income to pay the note off faster.

How do I get paid?

Direct deposit on the same day every month, paired with our monthly “Transparency” report — a line-item breakdown of all income and expenses for every trip the car ran. You see gross revenue, Holo's 40% cut, tolls, reimbursements — the whole picture.
